2025 was such a meaningful year at rhode futures foundation, as we deepened our focus on supporting moms and caregivers. We were able to contribute $2.6 million to 46 organizations that provide guaranteed income, extensive resources, and emergency relief to moms and caregivers across the country.

Thank you to all of our partner organizations for your unwavering commitment to dismantling the barriers that hold women and moms back. Let’s recap some highlights of everything we accomplished together.

addressing unpaid care

Putting cash in the hands of moms creates a
powerful ripple effect that extends to all areas of
their lives. Since studies have shown that women
and moms take on a majority of unpaid caregiving
and household responsibilities, from child care to
elder care, it often pushes them out of the
workforce and limits opportunities for economic
independence. Unconditional cash, either in the
form of monthly guaranteed income or emergency
aid, enables moms and caregivers to address the
unique needs of themselves and their families.

support for moms fund

This year at rhode futures foundation, our biggest focus was launching the Support for Moms Fund, designed to ease the burden of unpaid care for moms across the country. We distributed $1 million to 10 organizations that deliver guaranteed income and resources to new mothers, mother-like figures, and caregivers in the U.S.

As a result of the Support for Moms Fund donations, moms and caregivers across California, Georgia, Mississippi, New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington received guaranteed income and support.

Recipients shared that the unconditional cash assistance not only alleviated their current financial stress but also helped them plan for the future. They were able to pay off debt, cover medical expenses, and afford childcare, while building emergency funds and opening college savings accounts for their children. They also reported investing in their own education, professional development, and small businesses, enabling them to take steps toward greater economic independence and emotional well-being.

LA wildfire relief fund for moms, caregivers, and families

In response to the devastating wildfires in our hometown of Los Angeles, we distributed $1.6 million to support local organizations providing emergency cash payments and resources to mothers, caregivers, and families displaced or deeply affected by the fires. A portion of these proceeds came from 1% of all online and Los Angeles pop-up sales during January and February 2025.

These emergency funds contributed to the collective efforts of 28 organizations that provided rapid support and relief to thousands of families.

Thanks to the dedication of our partners, direct cash assistance was distributed to families, moms, and individuals across LA. Single moms who lost their homes received housing grants to help rebuild, and parents of young children were given emergency supplies like diapers, formula, and clothing. Additionally, these organizations provided critical emotional support services for recovery, from mental health counseling to social work.
